A little sunflower that says things.

Sunny lives in your menu bar and pipes up a couple of times an hour with a short line about the light, the time, or nothing much at all. Press Say something and it talks now. Tell it shh and it droops. And it knows when to keep quiet.

I'm here. Just saying hi.

Manners

Never a problem in a meeting.

A desk toy on a computer has one job before any other: don't embarrass anyone. So Sunny keeps its lines to itself whenever talking would be rude.

Lines

It notices things.

About a hundred lines, some of them hummed. For the time of day and the day of the week, for when you come back, for the battery and for the lights going down. All of it is read on your Mac, without camera or microphone access.

  • Mornings Morning light! My favorite kind.
  • Mondays Monday. I bloomed anyway.
  • Coming back Oh, you're back! I kept your chair warm. Mentally.
  • Low battery Your battery's getting low. Mine's fine, I run on light.
  • After a call How was the call? I waved at the webcam. Blindly.
  • Fridays Friday! I can feel it in my stem.
  • Dark mode Dark mode! I'll glow a bit for you.
  • Late nights Stars are just sunlight that stayed up late.

Settings

Yours to tune.

Sunny comes set up to be good company. Everything is adjustable, and none of it is behind a purchase.

How it talks
Out loud with a system voice (pick the voice, rate and volume), a short chime, a notification, or any mix. All off, and the line just appears in the panel.
How often
Rarely (about once an hour), Sometimes (about twice) or Chatty (about four times), only in the hours and on the days you pick, with quiet hours on top.
And the rest
An optional keyboard shortcut to hear a line from any app, launch at login, light or dark, and seven languages: English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese and Romanian.
The Settings window: talking channels, voice, rate and volume, and how often Sunny talks. The Settings window: talking channels, voice, rate and volume, and how often Sunny talks.

Privacy

Privacy you can check.

No camera · No microphone · No network

  • Sunny never accesses your camera or microphone. To stay quiet during calls, it only checks whether another app is using them.
  • No network requests of its own. No account, no ads, no analytics.
  • Nothing is stored beyond your settings: not what Sunny said, not when, not what you did.
  • Tips go through the App Store.

Don't take our word for it: watch it with any network monitor. There's nothing to see.

Price

Free. Tips welcome.

Everything Sunny does is free. If it makes you smile, there's a small tip jar under Support Sunny. Tips unlock nothing. They just say thanks.

Give Sunny a spot by your window.

It's small, it's polite, and it's happy to see you.
